Cheniere Energy asked FERC to begin pre-filing on a fourth expansion phase at Corpus Christi that would add up to ~3.2 Bcf/d of new liquefaction capacity via four large trains, two 220000 m3 tanks and a new berth.
The plan also includes a 3 Bcf/d loop and compressor boost on the Corpus Christi Pipeline, giving the site flexibility to push total nameplate toward the ~10 Bcf/d mark early next decade.
Cheniere targets a full NGA application in early 2026, FERC approval by mid-2027, and phased in-service beginning as soon as trains are finished, complementing the seven-train midscale build out now under way.
The request comes as U.S. developers’ rush to secure permits while the current administration remains supportive, even as global buyers digest Canada’s first cargoes and spot JKM holds above $12.
