An industry record: just 8 months after loading its first cargo, Plaquemines LNG production surged to above its nameplate capacity and stayed above this level throughout August.

The modular LNG revolution allows for shorter project timelines, drives cost efficiency and enables greater peak capacity. the peak capacity of the Plaquemines LNG trains stands at a staggering 140% of nameplate capacity, which allows for an even quicker ramp-up of the project. while currently only 28 out of the 36 trains are running, their production already surpassed by around 10% of Plaquemines’ designed nameplate capacity.

Overall, Plaquemines alone accounted for almost two-thirds of incremental LNG supply year-to-date in 2025, contributing to smoother market fundamentals. more than 80% of its cargoes were delivered to Europe, and played a crucial role in refilling underground storage sites, which stood pretty empty after a windless 2024/25 winter.

What is your view? could the modular LNG revolution transform our industry?
